When I See You
While some of our original songs were created together in the same time and in the same space, others are drawn from earlier muses. I had this tune since early 2011, but it never made it to the table with another guy I was collaborating with at the time. I guess that makes it sloppy seconds?
I had few expectations for this song and was happy to hear when Jerry had deemed it worthy to pursue. I couldn't help but smile when I listened to the final product the first time. And second time. Etc.
I'm continually amazed at the previously unimagined directions a project can go when collaborating with another. What started out as really a song quite worthless to listen to has evolved into something of which we're proud. So, thanks brother! And we hope our listeners find something enjoyable about it as well. My favorite? Probably Jerry's harmonies.
Here's "when I see you."
On this one I sing the melody and pick through some chords, Jerry is on harmony and hitting the high notes on his old-fashioned six stringer.

When I See You
when i see you baby
well i, i'll tell you what i wanna do
i wanna grab you by the hand
i wanna take you to the moon
but when
i see you baby
well you, you make it pretty hard
just to kiss you on the lips
and well, anything more
but i'm petrified still
by your touch and by your feel
so i wrote you a letter
just a couple pages long
and then i chose a few of the words
and with them i wrote you this song
i'll get you in my car and drive to
words we'll sing along
but when i need you baby
you never, pick up your phone
and i'm begging you darlin' please
quit leaving me alone.
back to original tunes
back to home
